Bayreuth ist eine Stadt am Roten Main im deutschen Bundesland Bayern. Im Stadtzentrum befindet sich das Richard-Wagner-Museum im ehemaligen Wohnhaus des Komponisten, der Villa Wahnfried (auch Haus Wahnfried). Wagners Opern werden im Bayreuther Festspielhaus aufgeführt, dem Austragungsort der jährlichen Bayreuther Festspiele. In der Parkanlage Eremitage am östlichen Stadtrand liegen das Alte Schloss, das ein Museum beherbergt, und der dem Gott Apoll gewidmete Sonnentempel
